Determination of technical and economical specifications of the used tractors at the market in Tokat province

In this research, technical and economic characteristics of used tractors in Tokat province and its districts are analysed. In seven districts of Tokat, the data is collected by 408 tractor and their owners by interviewing separately according to this aim. The tractors from which data is obtained are standard, and they are generally between the ages of 1-58. The average annual usage period of the tractors is 268 hours whilst the average rated engine power is 58.5 HP (43.6 kW) according to the tractors used in the survey. The reasons for the sale of used tractors are model obsolescence, insufficient capacity and need for money, respectively. In the second-hand tractor market, the sale price is determined primarily by the age of the tractor followed by the rated engine power, its brand, hours of usage and other technical features. Despite the fact that 41% of the tractors in the second-hand market complete their economic life, it is detected that these tractors are in demand in the market. In summary, it is revealed that the reason why some tractor brands are preferred more is that the service network is very developed and tractor owners might resale their vehicles with minimum loss in value. In addition to this, it is recommended that tractor owners should be informed about unconscious buying and selling decisions.
