Abstract (EN)
With this study, it was planned to determine the support needs of puerperant women in the postpartum period and the relationship between the support they received and their quality of life. The research was conducted as a descriptive cross-sectional study in some Family Health Center's in Tokat City Center between 15 November 2020 / 30 April 2021. The sample consisted of 270 puerperant women registered to these Family Health Center's. The data of the study were collected using the "Introduction and Evaluation Form", "Postpartum Support Scale (PSQ)" and "Postpartum Quality of Life Scale (MPP-QOL)". The obtained data were evaluated using the IBM SPSS 22.0 program. While evaluating the findings obtained in the study, One-Way ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis or Independent Samples test or Mann Whitney U analyzes were used in the comparison of quantitative data, in addition to descriptive statistical methods, in accordance with the data distribution. In addition, pearson correlation analysis was performed. The results were evaluated at the 95% confidence interval and the significance level was p≤0.05. The mean score of the PSQ sub-dimension of the importance of the need for postpartum women was 122.24±49.51, and the mean score of the support sub-dimension was 140.54±43.57. The mean MPP-QOL score was 23.51±3.25. It was determined that there was a statistically significant, negative and weak relationship between the mean scores of postpartum MPP-QOL and the mean scores of the PSQ's importance of need dimension, material support, emotional support, information support sub-dimension and total score (p<0.01). It was determined that there was a statistically significant, positive and very weak correlation between the mean scores of postpartum MPP-QOL and the mean scores of the support dimension of the PSQ sub-dimension of financial support and emotional support (p<0.05). This study shows that the support they receive is important in improving the quality of life of puerperant women in the postpartum period.
