In addition to providing individual immünity, vaccines also contribute to social immunity through vaccinated individuals. Considering that the physician is the most important factör in reminding patients about the vaccine, informoting abaout the vaccine and encouraging the individual to be vaccinated, the attitudes, awareness and knowledge levels of physicians on adult vaccination are of great importance. The aim of our study was to evaluate the level of knowledge of physicians in Tokat province about adult immunization, to ensure that they realize and update their knowledge if there are deficiencies and to contribute to the literatüre on this subject. Our study is a cross-sectional, analytical and complementary study. The questionnaire forms, which were prepared by reviewing the relevant literatüre, were completed by physicians who were actively working in Tokat between May 2024 and August 2024and who accepted the study. Our questionnaire form consists of sociodemographic, general approach, awareness and information questions about adult immunization. 304 physicians participated in the study. 95.1% of physicians were vaccinated after the age of 15. In addition,66.8% of them thought that they gave due importance to adult vaccination. After the age of 15, there was no significant difference between the status of having been vaccinated and the status of thinking that adult immunization is important (p<0.05). The rate of physicians who received training on adult immunization outside of medical school was 22.4%. While 60.9% of physicians found their knowledge on adult immunization sufficient, only 6.9% knew that Hepatitis B vaccine is routinely recommended for healthcare workers. As a result, it was observed that physicians received low lates of training on adult immunization outside of medical school. It was found that physicians in Tokat province lacked knowledge on adult immunization. This situation reveals the importance of increasing the knowledge and awareness levels of physicians will play a critical role in increasing adult immunization.
