Tokat mold printing writing folk culture and plastic analysis

ABSTRACT This study aims at contributing to literature in two ways. The former, the study determines motif, colour, printing mould, and composition attributes of Tokat slapping. And then, the study evaluates Tokat slapping in terms of public culture and plasticity. This study was conducted between 2018-2019 in Tokat. Document anaysis method was used in the study. Although Tokat Elvan yazma are 13, only 10 of them has been found and, 3 yazma and coupon template could not be found. The study investigated 10 different Tokat Elvan yazma within 14. The study was showed and found composition and similarities between wood carving, stone marble carving kalem işi, and works in terms of rhytm, equilibrium, colour, and shape As a result, the study could not be found some motifs in Tokat slapping. However, the study contributes to literature by compiling various types of Tokat slapping which was sunk in oblivion. The study advices to future researchers to make research about another univestigated Tokat slapping motifs. Key Words: Tokat slapping, pattern printing, motif, pattern
