Abstract (EN)

The Topkapı palace harem is not only extremely important due to its architecture, but also the 17th century tiles that it has. Tiles were used mostly throughout the harem after a fire in 1665. The design and placement of the tiles as well as the centuries that they were produced in, has been analyzed and researched many times. The purpose of this research was to determine the approximate number damaged and missing tiles used in Şadırvanlı sofa, Kadın Efendiler Taşlığı ve Dairesi, Valide Sultan Dairesi ve Taşlığı, Saltanat Kapısı (Cümle Kapısı), Çeşmeli Sofa, 3. Murat Has Odası, 1.Ahmed Has Odası ve Veliaht Dairesin, and to determine the approximate number of tiles used in each room to define the room plans.
