Abstract (EN)

The goal of this study is to emphasize the Total Quality Management philosophy?s importance for enterprises and to explain this philosophy?s effect on employee performance with the help of Performance Evaluation method, which is one of the most important implementation of Human Resource Management.This thesis is consist of three parts. A quality concept, which forms the fundamental of Total Quality Management philosophy?s, is mentioned in the first part, and then Total Quality Management philosophy?s definition, importance, principles and the relation of these principles with the Performance Evaluation approach is examined. In the second part, performance and Performance Management concepts are introduced and ?Performance Evaluation?, a Human Resource implementation which has a very important place in Total Quality Management philosophy, approach is investigated as a whole. In the third and the final part, a field survey is took a part intended for the relation between ?Total Management Quality? philosophy principles and employee performance. In the final part, the research?s subject, goal, importance, scope, methodology and hypothesis are explained primarily. Then the research findings that are obtained by the survey work results are evaluated and illustrated with tables and graphics.A survey method is applied to investigate the effect of ?Total Quality Management? philosophy principles on ?Worker Performance? in accordance with the goal of this study. The formed survey consist of 30 questions. The survey is carried out by 46 employee who are working at the design department of one enterprise which is doing service for defense industry in Ankara. The research results are evaluated by frequency spectrum according to variables, the correlation analysis, Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskall-Wallis H test using SPSS 12.0 software.A significant relation between Total Quality Management philosophy and employee performance is found according to the research results. It?s seen that Total Quality Management philosophy principles have generally a positive effect on employee performance. If the relations are examined according to the demographic variables, it?s seen that employee performance?s demonstrated no difference on age, education, working period and title. Total Quality Management philosophy principles demonstrated no difference on age, education and working period, however it?s seen that a difference is demonstrated according to title. It?s seen that the employees at high rank have more positive point of view to the Total Quality Management philosophy principles.
