Abstract (EN)
The operational planning and optimization ensured that the resources of the operator are used in the most efficient way. The most important resources of the public transport operator are the operating personnel and public transportation vehicles. With the operational planning and optimization, passenger satisfaction, operating personnel satisfaction, personnel savings and vehicle savings are achieved. In this study, the operational planning and optimization studies of the bus public transport system operated by Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Public Transport Administration have been carried out. For this purpose, the Sakarya public transport system's road network, lines, stops, operational characteristics and operation rule-sets were defined in the IVU.Plan program and the optimization analyses were performed. IVU.Plan is a resource planning software developed by IVU Traffic Technologies AG for bus and rail systems. According to the operational planning and optimisation analyses made for Sakarya province, it was determined that the trips could be carried out with less operating personnel and public transportation vehicles compared to the current situation, and a saving between 4,1% and 5,6% was achieved. In this study, some analyses were performed with the operational research techniques similar to the algorithms of IVU.Plan analysis and consequently some evaluations were made for the public transport system of Sakarya.
