Abstract (EN)
The reasons of the gaze at the people with a disability and how this gaze is perceived by the people with a disability and positioned in their daily life are examined in this study. A qualitative research is carried out, and the phenomenological research design is used throughout this study. In-depth interviews are conducted with 15 participants who are partially-sighted, blind, hearing-impaired, deaf and orthopedically disability. In those interviews, the thoughts and experiences of the participants are found out by asking semi-structured interview questions. In the first part, the Stigma Theory of Goffman; and in the second part, the Mirror Theory of Lacan are explained with their terms. In the third part, the findings of the in-depth interviews are interpreted with the theoretical information given in the first and second parts. In the conclusion, the results of the research are evaluated and the suggestions to remove the obstacles in the lives of the people with a disability are made.
