Relationship between gender perception and cyber bullying: A research on university students

Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between gender perception and cyberbullying in the context of university students. Apart from this, it is to examine these variables according to demographic factors. The sample of the study consists of 284 people studying at the University of Cukurova. Data from the participants were collected by survey method. The Personal Information Form, Gender perception and Cyberbullying Scale were used in the study. Reliability analysis, frequency analysis, normality testing, t-testing, one-way variance analysis (ANOVA), correlation and regression analyses were used to analyze the data. It was concluded that the level of gender perception and cyberbullying varies depending on gender, place of residence, class and purpose of use. It has been concluded that there is a meaningful relationship between gender perception and cyberbullying and cyber victimization and that it has effects on cyber bully/victim, which is an independent variable gender perception dependent variable.
