The statu of women in Turkısh political life in the context of gender

Obtaining political rights for the first time took place as a result of the rise in the world of women's feminism emerged in the West. In Turkey, being a feminist indirectly effective in obtaining political rights of women together to win the political rights of Turkish women were given instruction by Parliament by Ataturk in the 1930s gradually. In Turkey since December 5, 1934 to take part in the political field of women although there are no legal obstacles to women's political is one of the major problem areas that need to be resolved. In this study, it was seen that the main reason why women do not get enough political space is the gender perception. The aim of the study drew attention to the cause of gender determination, which is not included in the political sphere is to create awareness on the issue of women in Turkey. This study consists of three parts. In the first part, gender issues were examined in detail and extensive theoretical information was acquired about the topic. And finally, the family of the woman from the Ottoman era until today to determine the gender perception in Turkey, education, work and position in the media was investigated by taking advantage of academic research and statistical data. In the second part of the study; liberalism, conservatism, socialism, fascism, and feminism were examined. Feminism from these currents of thought; has been given in more detail because it is a trend towards women's rights directly. By studying the definitions of feminism from academic studies, it was attempted to find out what feminism is. Then, feminism's historical process and some types of feminism emerged in this historical process have been investigated. Finally, the historical process of feminism in Turkey were examined. In the last part of the study, in order to determine the effect of gender perception in place of women in politics, the place of woman in political area was investigated by examining related academic studies and statistics from the Ottoman period.
