Virtual dimension of social solidarity and civil society organizations: A study on the platform of Göçmen kadınlar

As a result of the technological developments in the 21st century and the spread of the internet, a digital transformation is taking place in non-governmental organizations and social solidarity as in every field. In this context, it is seen that new tools have emerged in the organization of individuals and in creating a solidarity network to solve their problems. Popular social media media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, which can be used internationally in today's network society, have become an important tool in the communication, organization, solution of social problems and social solidarity of civil society. Although there is no legal basis, individuals try to make their voices heard through the platforms established on social media and to organize to realize their needs and wishes that they cannot realize alone. Migrants, one of the disadvantaged groups within the scope of social problems, also come together through social media platforms. Migrant platforms are organized through different social media channels in order to solve their problems, to provide communication and to create a solidarity network. In this context, the aim of the thesis is to reveal the impact of the platforms established through social media in the solution of the social solidarity and problems of migrants. Within the framework of this purpose, a qualitative research was carried out through the "Migrant Women Platform", which is a rich and active platform in terms of the number of members. In-depth information was obtained from 36 women who formed a solidarity network as a member of this platform through a structured interview form. The obtained data were evaluated by content analysis with the help of NVivo 20 program. As a result of the research, it was determined that the platforms made significant contributions to the solution of the problems of migrants and created an effective solidarity area. It has been concluded that these platforms, whose contributions to the solution of social problems and their place in social solidarity carried to the virtual environment are increasing day by day, should have a legal basis and legal arrangements should be made.
