Abstract (EN)
The novel Ask-i Memnu was written during the time Ottoman Empire had started Westernisation process. When it was adapted for TRT by Halit Refig, Turkey just had military intervention. Last adaptation was mainly reflected the apolitical and consuming society occured after 1980 and the main purpose was to define the period the novel was written. It also discussed how political changes also change culture products by analysing 3 politically important period.
