Abstract (EN)

In this study, space as a main category of existence and social relations, and spatial notions referring to the same context, are discussed with the term of "spatial consciousness". Considering that the holistic and relational analysis are prior conditions to space and spatial comprehensions, and society/individuals are immanent and surrounded by space; firstly, spatial comprehensions are explained via pre-modern notions and thoughts. Then, in particular with capitalist relations of production and social relations, space and spatial comprehensions are discussed with the position of spatial consciousness. Finally, notional organization of space and the analysis of spatial comprehensions which are increased/multituded via modernity, discussed with the contradictions of spatial consciousness. Within this context, it is aimed to form a relational and holistic interrogative basis to the concept of space, along with the spatial contradictions and ontological positions of space, via the term of spatial consciousness regarded as invisible in social sphere. Keywords: Space, Spatial Comprehension, Spatial Consciousness, Social Space.
