Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT PhD Thesis COMPUTER SIMULATION OF A HEAT PUMP SPACE HEATING SYSTEM WITH AN UNDERGROUND SEASONAL SOLAR ENERGY STORAGE Mustafa İNALLI Fırat University Gradual School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Mechanical Engineering 1993, Page: 170 In this work* the storage of the solar energy in spherical and cylindrical tanks buried in the ground and the annual performance of a domestic heating system coupled with the heat pump is investigated. The formulation of the problem aims to calculate the bulk temperature of the water in tank and the temperature distribution of geological structure surrounding the tank. A Finite Fourier transform technic together with a suitable finite difference approximation is applied to the nondimensionalised equations to obtain the solutions. The heating system consisting of the building, solar collectors, heat storage tank and heat pump is analysed by using the solutions thus obtained. Selected of computer simulations are drawn versus some parameters of the system and compared with the similar reports in literature. KEY WORDS : Solar energy, seasonal storage, underground spherical and cylindrical tank, heat pump, space heating n
