Abstract (EN)
Spinal fusion is a frequently performed procedure today. The frequency of application and complications increased, with prolongation of life and the growing population. Changing the instrument material and technique after surgical complications and removing the instruments are using a treatment method. In our study, we examined the patients who had an instrument removed from the thoracolumbar region in terms of clinical, biochemical and radiological aspects. In our study, parameters such as age, gender, presence of chronic disease, smoking, number of operations were ineffective on clinical results. Although the changes and relationships in radiological parameters such as pelvic incidence, pelvic tilt, sacral slope, lumbar lordosis, and thoracic kyphosis was showed differantiotions, they did not affect the outcome results either. It was observed that instrument extraction provided a significant decrease in pain scores. Postoperative depression, disability and fear avoidance scores were also found to be decreased similar like pain.
