Abstract (EN)

Honor and honor killings are the most severe form of violence against women who are outside the gender roles defined for women in society.This type of violence, especially in the province of Şanlıurfa in Turkey's southeastern Anatolia region, ends with the massacre of women who take the honor of society on their shoulders.In the Prevention of honour killings as a violation of human rights by securing the rights of women will prevent the deaths of women and society the biggest problems will be prevented.For this purpose, a literature review was conducted to reveal the reasons for honor and honor killings and interview technique was used to delve deeper into the subject.As a result of the evaluation of the interviews,it was observed that the perspective of society on honour and honour killings began to change and conclusions were reached such as raising the level of education and raising awareness efforts to prevent them.
