Abstract (EN)
In this study, the properties like density, % size change, tensile and bendingstrengths due to sintering of the parts produced by Powder Injection Molding(PIM) from the steatite powder at different temperatures, heating rates andwaiting times have been investigated. First, the samples have been debinded. Then, they have been sintered at different sintering conditions. Later, theirdensities have been measured by using Archimet?s principle. Then, the tensileand three point bending tests have been carried out. Finally, the brokensurfaces of the samples have been examined under a scanning electronmicroscope. Thus, the ideal sintering conditions have been determined for thetensile and bending strengths of samples which were produced by using themixture of 58 % steatite powder and 42 % binders.Science code : 948Keywords : Steatite, sintering, ceramics, characterization, powderinjection moldingNumber of Pages : 123Supervisor : Ass.
