Özet (EN)

Purpose: Research the effects of trabeculectomy on intraocular pressure, ocular blood flow, ocular pulse amplitude on patients with glaucomaMaterials and methods: During the period from September 2009 to December 2010, 25 eyes of 25 patients that applied to Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine Department of Eye Diseases Center, and having primer open angle glaucoma who were diagnosed with primer glaucoma and were scheduled for operation were screened. Prior to the operations, intraocular pressure (IOP) and ocular pulse amplitude (OPA) were measured with Pascal dynamic contour tonometry (DCT), intraocular pressure was measured with Goldmann applanation tonometry (GAT), central cornea thickness (CCT) measurement and short posterior siliyer artery (SPSA) blood flow measurement was taken with colored doppler ultrasonography respectively. Trabeculectomy operation have been performed on all of the eyes in the trial. Measurument have been repeated in postoperative first month. Measurements postop and preop have been compared statistically. Results: Before the operation IOP and OPA measured with DCT and GAT and nasal and temporal SPSA resistive index numbers were found as 26,55±4,28, 26,92±4,75, 4,06±0,90 and 0,61±0,07, 0,62±0,10 respectively. After one month same measurements were found to be 14,36±2,49, 14,16±2,44, 2,52±0,56, 0,49±0,09 ve 0,52±0,09. The reduction in IOP and OPA measurements were statistically significant (p<0,001, p<0,001). Nasal and temporal SPSA resistive index numbers were statistically significant (p<0,001, p:0,001).Conclusion: Comparing pre-operation values with post-operation, values of IOP and OPA were reduced, nasal and temporal SPSA maximum, minimum and average blood flow speed were increase and resistive index values were reduced. A strong positive correlation was seen between OPA and nasal SPSA resistive index. It was concluded that the OPA values can be used for glaucoma follow-up and gives information about ocular blood flow and resistive index.
