The Effect of human attitudes and the style of social life upon the housing design in the example of Trabzon "Araklı" regions

If the innate biological needs and reactions of the human being were constant, visual change would be impossible. Thus, structures and surroundings formed in history would still prevail. However, sociologists having examining the family units since a century mentioned that they faced with family types so much distinct from each other even in different periods of the same society evolution. Human being is continuously having a variable relation, which directly affects the housing design, with surrounding. Relations between the human being and his surrounding are much more apparent in regional and underdeveloped societies and settlements. Therefore, influences of human behaviours and life styles of societies on housing design are considered by examining the housing of "Araklı" country in Trabzon. Housing types in Araklı range as village houses and apartment typed houses at country centre. In this study, both of the housing types are examined by source scanning, questionnaire and a research method based on observation. Compliance of housing types at Araklı country centre and in villages with the current lifestyle of society is studied and disharmonious aspects are determined. Possible improvements on existing structures and matters to be considered for the following applications are determined with the proposals submitted in conclusion section. The first three sections of the research include theoretical information formed by source scanning method. Fourth section constitutes of statistical surveys by examining the housing types with source scanning, questionnaire and observations and appraising thereof. Compliance of the housing examined with the lifestyle of society and cultural values is studied and disaccording aspects are established and some proposals for solutions are presented in the conclusion section.
