Trabzon province folklore research bibliography (Annotated bibliography)

Trabzon is one of the remarkable port cities due to its location. This thesis primarily to identify the sources related to the history of Trabzon. The results will be subjected to evaluation. The results will be subjected to evaluation. There are bibliographical studies written about Trabzon since ancient times. These studies will be scanned starting from the Ancient Period. It will be determined that what travelers have written about the history of Trabzon and the records of folklore will be stated. Among these, only those related to the content of historical sources will be taken with exclusion of newspaper and magazines. With this study, it is aimed to make a small contribution to Turkish Folk Literature by leaving a historical and cultural resume about Trabzon. The thesis consists of three main chapters. In the first part of the thesis, the name of history of Trabzon is emphasized. Where the name of Trabzon came from, where it was first seen and how it was called by different cultures are mentioned. The historical analysis part of the study consists of the titles of Trabzon city in the pre-Ottoman period and Trabzon city in the mid-17th century. The section on Trabzon in the mid-17th century is presented under two subtitles: According to Katip Çelebi and According to Evliya Çelebi. The last title of this section focuses on Trabzon in the early years of the Republic. The second part of the study covers the geographical characteristic of Trabzon province. The third and final part of the study consists of chapters on history, folk literature, folk beliefs, folk cuisine, folk music, folk music, folk arts and crafts, folk architecture, folk medicine, folk economics, linguistics, clothing and ornaments, monographs, professional folklore, children's games and toys, public health, folk games, transitional periods, family folklore, festivals, welcomes and farewells. Under these headings, books, theses, articles and papers are discussed and evaluated.
