Abstract (EN)

In this study, the subject of folk song, which is one of the oral products of folk literature, was examined by taking into consideration the folk songs of Trabzon region, one of the cities of the Eastern Black Sea Region. In general, what the folk song is, what features it has and what classifications it has been subjected to due to these features have been expressed over the analyzed sources. Based on these features of the folk song genre, Trabzon folk songs were examined through the folk song texts after giving general information. In this study, while researching the folk song genre, information was given about the musical instruments of the Trabzon region identified with the folk song, the characteristics of these instruments, their structures and performance venues, and the types, parts and performance venues of the horon identified with the people of Trabzon who are widely played in the region. The study of the Turkish texts has been on the structure, meaning and functions of the texts in the light of the information obtained from the sources that have made studies on the folk song as a result of the literature review. As a result of this study, Trabzon folk songs are products that reflect every moment of the people of the region, as well as being artistic creations, "Fun and Entertainment Function", "The Function of Giving Importance to Cultural Values and Social Rules and Transferring These Elements to Next Generations", "Creating, Preserving Education Culture and Tradition and Young It has been determined that they have many functions such as "The Function of Transferring to Generations", "The Function of Carrying a Historical Document Feature", "The Communication Function", "The Function of Strengthening the Emotions They Have Against Their Community and Creating a Sense of Security", "The Function of Freedom from Social and Personal Pressures". . In terms of structure, they are generally formed in the quatrain form of verse, but there are also different folk song texts with the number of bent and link verse, the words used in folk song texts are not used independently from the social life of the region, and the theme of love and affection is included in the folk songs, regardless of the subject.
