Abstract (EN)

According to Arnheim, "development in children's paintings is a perceptual phenomenon. Children's pictures are a real creation. The child creates a structural equivalent of the object he sees in his paintings. The child draws what he sees rather than what he knows" (Kırışoğlu, 2002, p.75). Children reveal their experiences and experiences through their pictures at the age of 3-6. When drawing a human in his paintings he conveys to the viewer what he knows. This is an expression of their cognitive development (Buyurgan, 2003, p.4). TODAY, Parents are becoming aware of the importance of cartoons and toys, educational materials, visual perception tests and inventories that play a major role in children's development. For this reason, especially the cartoons that children watch on television where they spend the majority of their days are important and must be paid attention. In the development of children's perceptual development and social skills, cartoons greatly shape children's perceptions in terms of the visual elements used, characters, plot of events and the messages they give. In this research, objects, events, social skills, messages, visual perception and social skills of the child in terms of protagonists were examined. To determine the effect of these visual elements, the drawings and drawings of children were understood and interpreted. The main problem situation, sentence, sub-problem situations, the purpose of the research, the importance and limitations of the research are explained in the introduction section of the thesis study. In the first part, the information about the developmental periods of the child, perceptual development, visual perception and linear development characteristics of children in the period of 3-6 years has been obtained and explained in detail by the literature survey. The linear development process and stages of the child, which will be the source of the main purpose of the research, are explained with examples. In the second part of the research, the definition of cartoons, their structure, their role in Child Development and the definition, history and characters of the TRT cartoon Niloya selected as an example are explained. In the third part of the study, the method of the research is mentioned. In the method part of the research, the model of the research, the Working Group, the collection and analysis of the data are included according to the scientific approach followed. In the fourth section, findings and comments are given. The results, methods and data of previous research on this subject were used based on the pictures drawn by children in the analysis of the data. In addition, it was tried to obtain concrete data in terms of what the child could and could not do according to their linear development period. These data, and the visual elements contained in the content of the Niloya cartoon, were intended to reveal how the protagonists influenced the child's perceptual development, linear development and social development. The visual perception and social impact of the images used in cartoons were examined with the help of the pictures drawn to the children. TRT cartoon "Niloya" example of the children asked questions and referrals are explained in the method section.
