Abstract (EN)
There are many television channels, programs for children and web-based content produced for preschool children. Today, children can easily access these contents and spend most of their time examining these contents. At the beginning of these contents are cartoons. Since these contents produced for children have a wide perspective, they affect even children and adults. The actions, colors and objects that children witness while watching these contents can affect children and these effects can be reflected in children's lives. The reflection of gender elements in the contents of this program for children and in cartoons is important in terms of forming the basis of children's gender issues. Televisions, tablets and phones have a great impact on the reflection of gender stereotypes on children's lives. Just as the gender elements are shown to the children, the thoughts and behaviors of the children in this context also develop and change in the same way. Cartoons on television and in the virtual environment have many messages about gender codes. Most of the information in cartoons shapes children's identity formations. In our research, it is aimed to examine four cartoons from the Children's Channel of TRT, the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, in the context of gender. Yade Yade, Rafadan Tayfa, Pırıl and Z Team cartoons selected from TRT Children's channel were selected and examined. The study has the characteristics of qualitative research. Content analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research, and the semiotic analysis method was also included.
