Abstract (EN)

Turkish people have lived nomadic life before moving to settled life in Middle Asia. Animals in the steppe culture created by the semi-nomadic lifestyle have a different place in nature. Plants, animals, mountains, rivers, lakes, etc. have acquired new meanings as it depends on Turkish people's understanding of the world and lifestyles while adapting to the natural environment they live in and its difficult living conditions. This understanding that has been shaped for centuries with the influence of old Turkish religion and other religions is still living in different forms and its traces can be followed. Animals have kept important place with the influence of their environment and lifestyle in steppe culture. Birds, which are symbols of souls and gods with the influence of Shamanism, are also taken part in rituals etc. in daily life, an application that has taken place constantly. Bird texts in folk songs recorded in the TRT repertoire compiled from the Black Sea region was examined in this study. The research eventuate four basic parts. Methods and techniques that used in this research was explained. the first part. In this context, on subject, purpose, borders, analysis and scope of the research focused. After used methods and techniques have explained, information about history, name, geographical features, population, economic structure and socio-cultural structure of research field have included. Definition of folk song genre, its occurrence and its transmission with related characteristics have been mentioned in the second part. Principally after giving various definitions about the folk songs made by the researchers from past to present nativity, factors affecting their spread and survival of folk song have been explained. After folk songs was classified. While the folk songs are being classified, four different issues are taken into consideration, namely prosody, subject, structure and melody. Classified folk songs have supported by showing example from research field. The situation of bird symbolism in Turks before and after Islam epochs is discussed in the third part. In the pre-Islamic period, the bird symbolism, which became meaningful and shaped within the framework of shamanism and ongon / töz cult, was emphasized. During metamorphosis of first Sufis, taking attention birds was evaluated in this context in İslam epoch. By the influence of Arab and Iranian literature especially the information about Zümrüd-ü Anka, Simurg and Hüma birds, which have been used extensively in the poems by Divan Literature artists, have been given. Usage of bird motifs in folk songs was emphasized in last part of research. The bird motifs in the folk songs compiled from the Black Sea region were evaluated in terms of their meaning and they were tried to be explained by showing examples from the texts compiled from the research area. In this way, it is aimed to reveal the importance of bird motifs in creating Turkish culture and folk literature based on the folk songs.
