This study researches the contribution of the art programmes that are broadcasted on TRT to the art and also art education. While the study is carried out, state of the problem, the aim, importance, suppositions, limitations and definitions have been made clear in the first part. In the second part, the importance of the art and the art education have been expressed. In this part the definition of art and art education has been made clear and its importance in terms of art education and society has been given. In addition, the concept of communication has been examined by various ways in the process of socialization. The relation between mass communication and television has been mentioned. Later on, historical development of television in our country has been told. A brief history of the foundation of TRT has been given. Also, radio and T.V. have been mentioned. Culture of folk and TV business have been stated. The effect of TV on the mass culture has been emphasized. The dimensions of the relation between communication and artwork have been examined In the third part; the impression that television have on art has been discussed in 3rd section. Also, in the third part, The point view of TRT on art and the themes of art programmes on TRT has been enlightened. During the 4th part; process of the study, model of the research, the universe and the analogy, the analysis and to gather of inputs have been discussing. In the 5th and the last part, findings and comments are given. The results have been evaluated with the questionnaire applied to university students and teachers.In addition the comparison of two different programmes with similar content which are broadcasted on TRT and Channel A have been carried out.
