Abstract (EN)
In this study, requirements for accreditation of activities of certification bodies in the field of TS EN ISO 3834 have been investigated and explained in detail. As a result of the investigation, for accreditation of TS EN ISO 3834 certification bodies it has been found that there are two different standards which are EN ISO/IEC 17021 and EN ISO/IEC 17065. Since the fact that welding fabrication is a special process and the trend is becoming more and more product oriented and certification should be done in the framework of certification schemes with respect to internationally acceptance, accreditation of TS EN ISO 3834 certification bodies should be done in accordance with EN ISO/IEC 17065. For this purpose certification bodies having established a product certification program, quality system, independence and impartiality mechanism in compliance with EN ISO/IEC 17065 should prepare required processes to ensure requirements of the standards have been met. Moreover, TS EN ISO 3834 product certification bodies should possess technical personnel in sufficient number who is competent and have comprehensive knowledge regarding welding fabrication technology and processes. Also, product certification bodies should establish required mechanisms to maintain and control the competency of its personnel. Having met these requirements and carrying out certification activities in accordance with internationally accepted certification schemes certificates and activities of product certification bodies would be officially recognized internationally if they get accreditation from accreditation bodies which have MLA.
