Abstract (EN)
The coronavirus infection 2019 (COVID-19) connected to the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak spread rapidly in December 2019 and became a global pandemic. SARS-CoV-2 is largely a respiratory virus, however, it has been found in a variety of organs. COVID-19's possible influence on male reproductive function has been identified as a source of worry. In "this investigation, the levels of sex-related hormones were measured in 60 reproductive-aged males infected with SARS-CoV-2 and 30 age-matched controls. We also collected semen specimens from the same COVID‐19 patients to see the impact of the virus on semen through semen characteristics analysis. Our finding was less fertility in terms of semen, total and active sperm counts than healthy people. Also, the COVID-19 group had higher prolactin (PRL) and lower testosterone (T) levels in their serum. The serum levels of (LH) and (FSH) were identical to those in the control groups. COVID-19 infection, in our perspective, can be a stressful condition since male sex-related hormones are influenced by a variety of factors, including environmental and psychological factors. Finally, patients recovering from SARS-CoV-2 infection, particularly reproductive-aged men, should have their gonadal function assessed more thoroughly."
