Özet (EN)

The overall aim of this research is to analyze the views and practices of the consumers and market personnel living in Tekirdağ on shopping attitudes at markets.204 consumers and 102 market personnel living in Tekirdağ participated in this research. Five point Likert scale was used to find out the views and practices of consumers and market personnel before, while and after shopping. Arithmetic average and standard deviation of the responses were calculated. At the end of research, the questionnaires were gathered together on an electronic environment at the data base formed using SPSS (Statistic, Packets for Social Sciences) program. Charts showing the absolute values and percentages concerning the questions were prepared. T test is used on the necessary finding and construed according to their levels of relevancy.More than half of the consumers and mall workers participated in the survey were female, and more than half of the consumers were married while more than half of the mall workers were single. The majority of the mall workers were basically employees while the rate of the public officers in the consumer group was high Majority of the both groups, consumers and mall workers have expressed that there isn?t a specific day to go to malls. Both groups mostly prefer to buy food products, clothes, and cleaning products. About the pre-shopping behaviors, according to their relevant average scores, both groups have agreed on the opinions of shopping should be done according to budget and discount periods should be monitored. With the practices related to the pre-shopping behaviors, consumers and mall workers mostly show two behaviors I do shopping according to my budget and I compare the malls and shopping places by price, product diversity, and product availability. From the behaviors during the shopping, mall workers show the following behaviors more than the consumers do I can give up on a product and leave it at another shelf, I can open the package to check the product and then leave it there. Among the post-shopping behaviors, I consume the products bought first and I read the instruction and safety manual on the product before I use it were the most shown practices for both groups consumers and mall workers. In the light of these findings, suggestions and recommendations on improving the consumers? consumption behaviors are presented.
