Abstract (EN)
Due to the increasing rate of vehicle traffic and limited real estate, the construction and complexity of road tunnels are substantially increasing throughout the world and safety of them has become an important concern among officials, researchers and engineers. As a result of multiple-death fires that have occurred in past years in highway tunnels in the world; there is a growing demand on public highway officials to meet a minimum standard for life safety in tunnels. Computer simulation is one of most economical, impressive and flexible methods to get the knowledge about fire processes and to predict and prepare a rescue plan under different conditions. So, in this study the capability of FDS (Fire Dynamic Simulator) used to simulate a vehicle fire and pool fire in a tunnel to analyze the consequences. Besides the relationship between forced longitudinal ventilation and ISH (Isı Salım Hızı) for vehicle and pool fires (fuel spillage, etc.) in tunnels tried to determined. As the effects of forced ventilation vary substantially depending on the type of fire load, different types of fire considered separately. Results presented for different fire sources.
