The relationship between tourist personal types and temporary behavior change (Liminoid): Local tourist

Individuals who cannot act as they wish in their daily lives display behaviors that they cannot display during their vacations. In this context, tourists can behave as they feel, hiding their behaviors in their daily lives, with the comfort and freedom provided by the vacation. In the research conducted based on this idea, the relationship between temporary (liminoid) behaviors that individuals display when they are alone with themselves and their personality types is examined. The main purpose of the research is to determine the relationship between temporary (liminoid) behavioral changes that tourists display during their vacations and their personality types. As a result of the data collection activities carried out in the field and online, usable questionnaires were obtained from 412 domestic visitors. In this context, the sample of the study consists of 412 people. The questionnaire form used in the study included tourist personality types, temporary behavioral change (liminoid) scales and demographic questions. The data were analyzed with descriptive analyses, exploratory factor analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis. The tourist personality types scale consists of a 2-dimensional structure. These dimensions are extroverted tourist personality and introverted tourist personality type. The temporary behavior change scale consists of 5 dimensions. These are; hedonism, detachment from identity and irregularity, secrecy, indifference and player behavior. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the extroverted tourist personality type has an effect on temporary behavior change, while the introverted tourist personality type has a small effect. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the extroverted personality type affects temporary behavior change.
