Tourist guiding service quality dimensions

Tourism is one of the biggest and most important industries that generate the most income in the orld. Today, with the changing conditions and developments in many fields, the importance of package tours, where tourists receive many services together, has increased. Package tours constitute a large part of the organized travel market. Tourist guides play a vital and critical role in the tour experience of tourists, in the tourism industry and package tours in general. In order to give the visitors memorable experiences, it is necessary to determine the factors that specify the experiences. Tour guides, who are with tourists throughout their travels, occupy a vital position in areas such as the satisfaction of the tourists and the image of the country. In this context, it is very important that the service quality of professional tourist guides is good. The aim of this study is; after explaining the concepts of tourist guiding, service quality and their relationship with each other, determining the dimensions of service quality in the tourist guiding profession, the factors determining the service quality of tourist guiding. This study also aimed to be a source for tourist guides and tour operators and to flash on future research. For this purpose, a literature review was conducted, and data on factors determining the quality of tourist guidance service and the dimensions of guidance service quality were collected. As a result of the research and study, the data obtained from the participants and the information and data obtained after the literature review were combined. The dimensions of the tourist guidance service quality were explained, the determinant dimensions of the tourist guidance service quality were explained and various suggestions were presented.
