Abstract (EN)

As in the other sectors, tourism enterprises try to ensure customer satisfaction. The tourist using the right and freedom to travel has money, time, experiences and expectations. On this account, the tourists want to have rest, fun, excitement, differences than the daily life and happiness and for him/her, it is not enough to satisfy his/her needs only. Due to reasons such as rise of customers? particularly health tourism customers? living standards, spread of new products to entire sector, customer expectations have been raised over time. In the today?s competitive environment, to know the customers assessments is allow to the enterprises to make adaptations to attract and to satisfy the customers.As the standard tourism product has reached saturation in world tourism market, the demand for new tourism types and products is rapidly increasing. Perhaps, health tourism is one of the most important of these new tourism types. The increasing average age, changes in lifestyle, varied tourism alternatives and health system characteristics of the countries are among the reasons for the development of health tourism.Nevertheless, turkey has substantial amount of geothermal energy, the thermal resources can?t be used sufficiently for tourism. Recently, the investments for thermal tourism are increased as a result of attempts for diversification of tpurism types in Turkey. Creation of the information required for development of helth tourism in Turkey and to manage the existing and planned facilities rationally is one of the main goals of this doctoral thesis. In the study a questionnaire form is applied to the staff working for 5 star thermal resorts in Turkey. The study field is choosen as 5 star thermal resorts because they are supposed to have the best physical and service standards among the thermal tourism facilities. The questionnaire form contains 55 questions which examine tourist security in resorts, ethics and working conditions in enterprises, quality management of resorts, treds of employees to continue for the company and 6 demographic questions. The first 55 questions are designated by the Likert scale with 5 ranks.The data obtained are analiyzed with SPSS 17.0 (Statistical Programme for Social Sciences) by descriptive and inferential statistics way and demographic questions were taken on the basis of the frequency distrubitions. All tests and hypothesis in the study have been examined at the 0,05 significance level. First, data reliability (Cranbach Alpha) was tested and to determine the validity of the variable factor analysis (Principal Component Analysis) was tested out and as a result, data reduction was done. As a final test, regression analysis was made to examine the effects of the independent variables on dependent variables.In the study, mainly it is pointed out that;-Thermal resorts in Turkey are secure for the tourists, bur the qualifications and expertise necessities of the staff of thermal tourism resorts, particularly in thermal and physical therapy units have to be developed.-To hire appropriate quality and quantity of the staff for the enterprises goals and ethics code at works will increase personal efficiency and service quality and consequently quality, resort security and finally customer satisfaction.At the result part of the study, the proposals and suggestions to develop thermal tourism were discussed.Key Words: Health tourism, geothermal resources, thermal tourism, thermal resorts, security, quality, customer satisfaction, bornout syndrome
