Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, we can feel the globalisation and the innovation in all fields of life. The change of people's mental outlook, the abundance of free time caused as a result of the development in the fields of technology and communication are investing to the development of the tourism sector. The developed countries of the world are widely taking the advantages of tourism sector in order to develop their economy. That?s why these countries get the full value of the strategy of diversification of touristic product.Conference and convention tourism is one of the most profitable and preferred touristic products. This touristic product makes both economical and socio-cultural benefit to the country. It?s benefit, in terms of economy, can be regarded as providin foreign currency, creating employment, stimulating other sectors and expanding seasonal ectivities. In terms of socio-cultural aspects it?s positive effects can be seen as minimizing negative cultural effects, creating a positive image, making cheaper promotion for country, contributing to scientific studies, building new establishment which the local citizens need, supporting cultural and art activities and because of the less environment pollution, iti is more advantageous.In this study the convention and conference tourism and its potential supply in Azerbaijan has been researched. At the result of the study, it was concluded that if supply resources of the country were properly evaluated and if the shortcomings of the skills in this sector were overcome then the development could be a subject-matter.
