Abstract (EN)

It is observed that the tourists coming to our country from other countries exhibit various tourist typologies according to the decision-making variables. The correct analysis of purchasing behavior of tourists having various tourist typologies will provide a great competitive advantage for the tourism sector. Therefore, with the determination of various tourist typologies, it will be possible to develop marketing strategies, to divide the market into segments, to determine the product preferences of various tourist types, to ensure the efficient use of resources, and to provide performance of services and to meet needs considering requests of clients. Within the scope of the study, the data obtained through personal interviews conducted with departing foreign tourists, who visited Turkey, from İstanbul Airport was analyzed. Required tests regarding the general validity and reliability of the scales used were performed and 625 questionnaires were asked to the sample group from August 2019 to October 2019. In the analysis of the data obtained, "percent", "frequency", "t-test for independent samples", "t-test for related measurements", "one-factor variance (Anova)" analysis were used. In accordance with the findings obtained, significant differences were determined between tourist attractions and purchasing behaviors as per the characteristics of the typologies determined based on the decision-making variables of foreign tourists. It has been determined that the factors (economic, social, psychological, cultural and personal) affecting tourist attraction (historical and recreation) and purchasing behavior in destination preference differ significantly according to tourist typology.
