Abstract (EN)
Kümbet Plateau, which constitutes our research area, is located in the Eastern Black Sea part of the Black Sea Region. The research area, which belongs to Dereli town of the city of Giresun in terms of administration, is 26 kilometers far from Dereli and 58 kilometers from Giresun. It is situated on the northern lines of the Eastern Black Sea Mountains. The research area that exhibits richness and diversity in terms of the human and natural features has great potentials. Therefore, it has been visited by more than 40 000 people for touristic purposes every summer. These touristic activities have caused some environmental problems such as destruction of the nature by recently built summer houses, and pollution at the picnic areas. In our study, physical, human and economic geography of the research area have been searched, and touristic activities occurring in the area has been examined. As a result of our research, the problems have been explained and some suggestions to solve them have been offered.
