Abstract (EN)

Sharing economy is a business model that allows sharing, renting or selling of goods/properties or services that are not frequently used or idle by the owner through online platforms with individuals in need. Based on the sustainability approach, sharing economy plays an active role in eliminating many environmental, economic and social problems in destinations where tourism activities are intense. Therefore, identifying the underlying factors of individuals' participation in the sharing economy will provide important information to businesses and local governments in order to maximize the benefit from this economy. For this purpose, data were collected from 389 individuals who have experience of using the accommodation and transportation services platforms of the sharing economy in Istanbul destination by using questionnaire technique and the motivation factors for sharing economy platforms were determined and in the scope of the study, the proposed "sharing economy acceptance model" was tested. The results of the study show that "perceived usefulnes" and "perceived ease of use" variables, which are the main variables of the model, consist of six sub-factors, and that individuals will accept and use sharing economy platforms within the framework of these sub-factors.
