The impact of the career adaptability of tourism sector employees on individual creativity (Alanya hotels example)

In the business life where intense competition is experienced, the importance of being prepared, being open to development and change, and having career adaptability skills is increasing in order to reach career goals of the individual. At the same time, businesses need to differentiate from their competitors, be original, put forward creative ideas and innovate in order to compete with their competitors and survive in a global environment in the rapidly developing business world. Creativity of employees is an important parameter for businesses to find new solutions that will increase customer loyalty and satisfaction. The main purpose of this research is to examine the effect of career adaptability skills of employees in 5-star hotels in Alanya district of Antalya on Individual creativity. Research data were collected with a questionnaire form prepared by the researcher. The data obtained were analyzed and tested in the SPSS program. As a result of the study, when the findings of the "Career Adaptability" and "Individual Creativity" scales were examined, it was seen that there was a high degree of positive correlation between them. Assuming that career adaptability has a positive effect on individual creativity, it is seen that 62% of the changes in the individual creativity of employees are due to career adaptability. When the relationship between individual creativity and each sub-dimension is examined in order to see which career adaptability skills are related, it is seen that there is a moderate positive relationship with Anxiety, Control and Confidence, and a high level of positive relationship with Curiosity. Individual creativity decreases with these 4 abilities and increases together. Accordingly, it is concluded that curiosity is the most influential on individual creativity among the 4 career adaptability abilities.
