Education activities in human resources management in tourism industry

Today, technological developments proceed rapidly and the most visible effects of these can be seen in business life. The establishments, producing goods and services, must follow the developments instantly, to adapt themselves to the new conditions and to follow up the new developments. Otherwise, they will have to submit to the ruthless laws of competition. To avoid such situations, establishments must pay greater importance to the matter of education. In the theoretical part of this thesis dissertation, the process of education in establishments, the importance of education for the establishments and employees, orientation education, Education Activities in Human Resources Management in Tourism Industry in today and a related application has been detailed. According to the results, obtained from the research, the Tourism Sector has displayed a presence in the national economy starting from 1980s; yet, it still has no claimed the place it deserves. As a country of high potential, Tourism Sector must be aware of it. Due to its nature as a labor-intensive sector, it creates more employment, compared to other sectors and this yields a need for many educated personnel. Although in particular the Hotel administrations need trained personnel, the reasons, such as failure to employ and maintain educated personnel, and the high rate of personnel turnover, suggests that the sector has great problems of education or training problems. The sector does not only consist of five star hotels. The reception of tourism education by the persons, working in small and medium scale hotel administration or leave the field entirely for the persons, educated in this field, seems as the most reasonable solution.
