The flute solo orchestral works of Turkish investigation of Five

In this dissertation, the `TurkishFive?suse of flute in their orchestral work has been studied and examined and the flute solos in the examined pieces were analyzed.In the section where orchestral compostions were examined, a priorin formation given about the particularly examined piece. In the analysis of the pieces, the solo flute passages were analyzed structuraly and melodically. Also, the flute solos where they are accompanied with another instrument in the orchestra and how the solo was played has been analyzed. Another observation made in this study is that the sections where the flute?s sentences were played with the orchestral piece were concentrat edupon and their function with in the orchestral piece has been explained.Considering the universal aspects of the sepieces, the study attempts to cover the value and importance of the flute in the examined orchestral pieces for these composers Works in dicate western approaches and the changes and innovations brought in to the Contemporary Turkish Music.Additionally, with a scientific perspective, this study tries classify and cover the formation process of the TurkishFive, and their contributions toTurkish polyphonic music, their life stories, uniqueness of them as composers, by examining their compositions and the properties of their work.The common point in the works of the Turkish Five is that they all had employed the styles and modes of Turkish traditional and Turkish classic music with in the harmonic texture of the classical music. Although these five composers had a similar level of education and training, their composition techniques and musical approaches had become varied in time. In order to indicate these differences, the distinctive features of the Turkish Five as composer shave also been covered in this study.This is a qualitative research in which document analysis technique was used. Relavent archive scanning, which has an important weighing in a study as such, was employed to get her with related library scanning to provide enhanced support to the analysis of the pieces.Keywords: Turkish Five, Contemporary Turkish Music, Orchestral Works, Flute.
