Abstract (EN)
The richness of the Seljuk Dynasty in terms of art and culture inevitably affected not only contemporary arts but also architecture, traditional arts, fabrics, tiles, miniatures and many other fields in Turkey. The art and life styles of the Central Asian Turks and the understanding of art that has survived from the Seljuk and Ottoman era to the Turkish painters and abstract art of the contemporary time were examined; the contributions of the Seljuks to Turkish art were blended with the west-facing faces of today's artists. Nomadic arts are connected with the life styles and beliefs of Turks in Central Asia. These are the times of nutrition and development for the Turks in Central Asia and in the same process, the shamanic beliefs and symbols that play a backbone role in the structure of their culture stands out. On the eleventh century, the Oghuz tribes, known as the Seljuks, conquered Asia Minor and established dynasties and states in Iran, Anatolia, Syria and Egypt in the name of the religion of Islam they accepted. They provided opportunities for the development of art in the regions they took over. During the research, the geographical and cultural richness of the Seljuk periods which are reflected on the branches of art were examined within the framework of these contexts, along with the artistic developments in the Ottoman period, its contribution to Turkish contemporary abstract art intended to be positioned on. It should also be noted that the periods and the events occurring within the periods has not been conveyed within historical constraints, only relevant information has been conveyed. It has been taken into account that the language of some of the sources used is foreign and all the translations of other than Turkish sources are my own.
