Abstract (EN)
The self-government period of the Turkic Republics (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan in Central Asia, Azerbaijan in the Caucasus), which gained their independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union, brought along important economic problems. These new states, trying to create independent economies by integrating the world economy with the market economy, have directed their resources to industrialization and to realize their own industrial production. Cooperation is extremely important in achieving this goal. Such a cooperation based on harmony, integration, mutual benefit and gain will also make important contributions to the solution of economic, technical and social problems The assumption of this study is that cotton and cotton products, which constitute the most important export items of the Turkic Republics, can form the main axis of the economic cooperation between the Turkic Republics.Because the Turkic republics have a relative advantage in cotton production and trade. The aim of the study is to reveal this advantage and identify potential development opportunities. With providing cooperation on cotton which has the potential for great development within the framework of cooperation between Turkey and Turkic republics, Turkish economy will gain a new market as Turkic republics will have the opportunity to solve the economic problems they face today, to a certain extent. In this study, the data regarding the import and export of five countries, in the process of rebuilding their economy, strenghtening their economic bonds with the World, from their independence to present time (1991-2020) and the development of commercial relations with Turkey have been analysed and some assumptions have been made in order to develop future trade relations, on a smoother and more problem-free level.
