Review of the cultural and educational contributions of the military bands of the Turkish Naval Forces Command for the regions where they are deployed

In today's world where science has been developing day by day, scientific research is also changing, developing and growing day by day with new developments in parallel with this. In addition to this scientific progress, technological advances continue without stopping and scientific research keeps up with this change and development. In this direction, new researches in social and human sciences provide an insight for many new approaches in science and guide these. This research was made in order to present the cultural and educational contributions of the military bands of the Turkish Naval Forces Command to the regions where they are located. In this direction, to research the military bands which are based on the Tug tradition in a wider context, their historical development from the Tug, Mehter and Muzika-i Humayun to the present day has been tried to be investigated. In addition to this, the chronological and historical stages of the Turkish Naval Forces Military Band Commands from their establishment to the present, and the cultural and educational contributions of the relevant bands to the regions they are affiliated with have been tried to be defined. The cultural and educational ceremonies, concerts and activities performed by the military bands affiliated to the Turkish Naval Forces Command in their respective regions between 2016-2021, both only as a band and jointly with official and non-governmental organizations, were examined and both cultural and educational contributions of the bands to their regions were revealed. In line with the results obtained from the research data, it is concluded that the military bands affiliated to the Turkish Naval Forces Command have many positive cultural and educational effects on the environment in which they are structured. They carry out many activities in cooperation with official and non-governmental organizations, they contribute positively to social development and change in national and spiritual terms through these activities and play an active role in cultural development. Depending on these results, the ability of military bands affiliated to the Turkish Naval Forces Command to undertake important tasks in solidarity with educational institutions, suggestions developed in order to benefit more from military band music throughout our country and other studies that can be done in this field are some of the topics that has been tried to shed light on.
