VII ABSTRACT Shipping is very important for both World and Turkish economy. The realization and development of shipping sector is possible with the services of Ship Supply Enterprises that give service to the sector. Ship Supply Enterprises can be divided into two groups; Ship's Chandler and Bunkering. Ship's Chandler Enterprises meet the needs of ships, their crew and the passengers. The services given by these enterprises include the procurement of some basic necessities such as food, water, medicine and laundry, spare part procurement, gas re-fillment, garbage removal and also guarding services. Bunkering Enterprises give services such as the procurement of fuel and oil needed to run the ship and the technical and the mechanical parts in the ship. Ship Supply Enterprises in the Turkish Shipping Sector have not developed enough yet. To archieve the desired development, it is vital to overcome some legal difficulties and to increase the quality of the services.
