Abstract (EN)

Epics are literary works which contains important events and cultural elements for nations. This work?s subject is ?Believes and Faiths in the Turkish Epics?. Introduction part of investigation the subject, importance, extent and the method was given. In the first section; the definition, forming, subject and the style of the epic, myth, legend, folk story were mentioned. Then, the similarities and differences of the epic and those three subjects were given. We talked about Turkish and other nation?s epics at the second and third parts of the research. We gave information about some important epics. At the fourth part, belief and faith were mentioned. Those two concepts and their relationship were examined under two titles. On the fifth section belief and faith motives were determined trough the epic?s own title. As a result, we fixed so many elements of belief and faith in the Turkish epics and these were classified.
