Examination of cultural assets in the Turkic world countries covered by UNESCO

With the rapid development of transportation and destination tools every day, the tourism sector also shows great development. As a natural result of these developments, new types of tourism are emerging. One of the types of tourism that exists under the umbrella of tourism and occupies a large place in this service sector is cultural tourism. Considering the value of cultural assets in recognizing people's own historical background, it is also understood how important it is to protect these assets. Many different institutions have emerged around the world to protect cultural assets and transfer them to future generations. For this purpose, the UNESCO organization was developed by the United Nations. Today, almost all countries of the world have cultural and natural assets registered with this official organization. When we pay attention to the long historical path traveled by the Turkish peoples, it is clear how rich their history is. This rich historical background has bequeathed many cultural assets to humanity. Due to this historical richness, the Turkic Republics have many tangible and intangible cultural assets registered with UNESCO. The main purpose of this thesis is to examine the assets of the Turkic Republics registered in the UNESCO official institution in a holistic manner. The fact that the studies conducted in the past on this subject were not comprehensive is one of the factors that increase the importance of this study. Document analysis method, which is considered as one of the research methods, was used in the study. The study consists of three main sections. In the first part, the conceptual framework is mentioned, in the second part, the findings are presented and finally, in the third part, the study is completed with conclusions and recommendations. In the findings, cultural assets are categorized under two headings. Firstly, the tangible assets of the Turkic Republics were mentioned, followed by intangible assets. In the research, country names were followed in alphabetical order.
