Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to discuss the works of Ibnülemin Mahmud Kemal Inal (1870-1957), who is known for his numerous works published during the late 19th century and in the first half of the 20th century, from a sociological perspective. In the first chapter of the thesis which consists of three chapters, Ibnülemin's educational background is discussed after addressing his biography with reference to his family and social environment he grew up in. In the second chapter, early writings, novels and biography essays of Ibnulemin who grew up during the reign of Sultan Abdulhamid II were presented. Besides, his writings published in the Constitutional press and the works he produced during this period were discussed. The events such as Ibnülemin's experience in the bureaucracy of the Constitutional period as he started working at Bâbıâli (Sublime Porte) during the period of Sultan Abdulhamid II and the occupation of his house during the Armistice years were also included in this chapter. In the third chapter, the tasks he undertook in the Republican period, his works at the Turkish Historical Board and articles published in the press were examined and his works titled Son Asır Türk Şairleri, Osmanlı Devrinde Son Sadrıazamlar, Son Hattatlar and Hoş Sadâ: Son Asır Türk Musikişinasları in the Republican period were discussed. In addition to this, him being brought to the agenda in the press in the 1940s and 1950s was also mentioned.
