Sociological analysis of the Journal of Türk Düşüncesi

The Journal of Türk Düşüncesi continued its publication life between 1953 and 1960, had good relations with the DP government, and had important sociologists and writers such as Peyami Safa, Hilmi Ziya Ülken, İsmail Hakkı Baltacıoğlu, Cahit Tanyol in its staffIt is a sociological journal. The reason for the review of the Journal of Türk Düşüncesi is that it vividly reflects the intellectual life of the period it published, includes important sociologists in its staff, and reflects the mysticism-based science understanding of the period in which it was published. The main purpose of this study is; To reach the general acceptances and theses of the nationalist-conservative thought of that period, which adopted this understanding of science, which was dominant between the years 1950-1960, is to have knowledge. In this direction, the opinion articles written in the journal were examined and the study was completed by using different sources that support the ideas in the journal. As a result, the Journal of Türk Düşüncesi revealed the understanding of science of the period in which it was published, examined values such as religion, language, culture and tradition, which concern social life and assign a mission to the society, from a national and spiritual perspective, and introduced reforms- conservatism is an important source that tried to synthesize issues such as East - West, past - future, rejected communism firmly, and subjected Freemasonry to harsh criticism.
