Abstract (EN)

During the modernization processes of Turkey, important reforms that affect women's status have occurred in a relatively short duration. However, both because of these reforms' not having an impact on the society homogeneously and for their not being able to be maintained with eagerness after the Republic period, the transformation of cultural senses and daily life practices haven't been completed. The experiences that shape and make sense of common life have kept their traditional form to the detriment of women. On this point, the ideas', which find salvation from social crisis in going back, protests about the freedom of women and the resistance factors that reflect on the sayings of the ones who find the changes in women's status necessary have played a role. The purpose of this study is to determine how the resistors related to the changing status of women reflect on the literary works, to show the production and the legalization of sexist culture and gender identity in social and private contexts with the help of literary works. For this purpose, the place of woman in historical process and the approach of certain ideologies of modernization processes toward women have been examined in the consideration of sociological research. From a broad period that starts with the canonical texts of modernization processes and extends over the socialist realist literary movement, literal works that have presentive quality, textbooks, columns, essays and books have been examined and the statement and philosophy being a basis to woman representations have been tried to be contextualized. In this study, the philosophy that the gender regime has been based on during the modernization processes, the functionality of this regime and the projections of sexist senses, which exist in culture, in literature and the way of their being produced and legalized have been stated.
