Commentaries of muammâ in Turkish literature and Muammâyî Ahmed Çelebi's Şerh-i Muammeyât-ı Emrî (Transcribed text-analysis)

As the meaning of the word, "a word or thing that is hidden, implicit, obscure, uttered through a sign and symbol (remiz)" muamma; which is the name of the type that includes riddles that are arranged to hide a name as a literary term, according to current information, it is a literary skill that is thought to have emerged in Arabic literature, then passed to Persian literature and became an independent science, and its theory was revealed down to the smallest detail. The muamma, whose first cores we saw in the 15th century in classical Turkish literature, and which had its golden age in the 16th century, has managed to become a type that attracts the attention of commentators. Emrî's muammas, who is considered to be the cornerstone of classical literature, especially about writing muamma, and whose skill in this subject has been accepted by the authors of tezkire and literary authorities, have been mentioned both in his own period and in the following periods, and have been seen as poems worthy of comment by the commentators. Muammâyî Ahmed Çelebi's Şerh-i Muammeyât-ı Emrî is one of the works written with this understanding. This work, which contains the muammas of Edirneli Emrî Çelebi, who is the first name that comes to mind when "muamma" is mentioned in Turkish literature, has an important place in terms of the solution of his muammas and revealing its literary value. The thesis we have prepared consists of an introduction and three parts. In the introduction part, information about the commentary and commentary literature is mentioned, then in the first part, information about the concept of muamma and the commentaries of muammas written in Turkish literature is given. In the second part, the determinations made by us about the life of Muammâyî Ahmed Çelebi are given and the commentary technique is discussed by examining the author's Şerh-i Muammeyât-ı Emrî. In the third part, the work has been translated into Latin letters with the transcription writing system.
