Abstract (EN)

The scope of this study is to determine the scales used in Turkish Folk Music. There are 15 parameters selected among the 2011 folk songs which are chosen from the TRT Turkish Folk Music Repertoire, and then these parameters entered into data bank generated by "file maker pro 6.0 v 3" program, and further each data is correlated by their characteristics dominated by scales. It is found that 13 separate fundamental notes exist in all of the folk songs examined, and among these, 69.52 % of songs are concluded with "la" (A4) sound. Furthermore, there are 43 different key signatures have been found, which the 4/4 key signature is leading by 28.2 % majority. Key Words : Turkish Folk Music, scale, region, key signature
